Nostalgic...

Do you ever sit and think about a past event or era in your life and wish you could relive it? I first started collecting shoes in late 2004. I've always been a fan of nike sneaks, as i felt that there was a certain quality and aura that surrounded them. I remember getting my first pair of nikes in 5th grade. Purchased them at Big 5. I don't remember the model, but they were part of the Force line and were a black nubuck with white accents. Having come from wearing chucks at $30 to Nike's at $85 was a big deal for me.

In 6th grade, my infatuation with Nike BBall shoes was growing, I remember seeing Lil' Penny commercials promoting the Nike Air Penny II and I knew I had to have them. Check the vid!

Unfortunately, money was tight back then. I already had my for the school year, and I'd have to wait until next year to get shoes again. One of my friends Ashley had the Penny II's in every color so it sucked being reminded of what I couldn't have everyday. So after a year passed, and it was time to get a new pair of kicks, the Penny's were all sold out which meant that I had to pick something else.

Pip with Mike. Check the footwork.

In came the Nike Air Pippens. I fell in love with the intricate lines and aggressive look of the shoe. It was the first shoe that I got that was over $100. I wore those shoes everyday. To hoop, BMX bike, and even skate. As they neared the end of their lives, I filled in the little grooves in the midsole with a sharpie. I wore those shoes until I got hole in the air bubbles from the heel drag. I loved those shoes.

Ever since I started collecting, I had wished that both would re-release because old pairs were so hard to find. When I heard the Penny II's and Pippens were re-releasing this year and I knew I had to have them. Since I stopped collecting shoes, i was a little out of the loop as to when they were releasing. Luckily this weekend I hopped on Niketalk and found out the Penny's were dropping soon. I checked Niketown.com and sure enough, they were there! I quickly ordered a pair, and also ordered a pair of Pippens that released a few weeks ago. I chose 2nd day air, waited for the doorbell all day today, and here they are.

An opening ceremony even bigger than the Olympics.

And another year passes...

So I turned 24 on the 10th. As the years pass by, I can't help but feel nostalgic. Sometimes I sit and wonder where all the years have gone, and what i've done with my time here. Then I realize that life is just beginning and begin to ponder the future.

I don't make a big deal about my birthday, and I don't like others to as well. A simple birthday greeting is all that I require. However, my sister had a different idea. So after she called a couple of her friends, I ended up with a comp'd dinner at Lavo. Lavo is a new restaurant/lounge/nightclub brought to us by the same guys who did Tao. It doesn't officially open until this week, but they had a soft opening a couple weeks ago and the different VIP hosts were encouraged to invite guests for free meals in hopes of rave reviews and refferals.

Unfortunately, since it was a comp'd dinner, I was only given limited seats, I wish I could have invited you all, sorry! So on the shortest of notices, the day of, I invited some of the dearest friends I have here in Las Vegas. A few weren't able to make it due to school and work, but the few that came made it a chill night.

Meh-He-Koh

Me and my FamBam went on a short cruise to Ensenada, Mexico for Labor Day. We left early morning, had lunch at Pink's on La Brea, then headed for Long Beach. I didn't take many pics with my cam since it's so big, but here are some randoms and some not so randoms.

Leaving the Port of Long Beach.

PoPo's tryin' to catch me cruisin' dirtyyy. haa.

Some old ship in the port.
Minus Me.

A snake in the water.

More vessels.

The Hills. Minus LC and Audrina.

The Port and shops. Where everything was $2-5 more than downtown.

Saying farewell.

And...

Go.

Leaving ripples that form the memories in our minds.

Be cautious.

The sun must sleep.

Dumbo's cooler cousin.

Do you think he's offering the mint, or asking for it? Hmm.

All in all it was a relaxing trip. Sailed, ate, looked at the sea and pondered life, ate, hit the gym, ate, went ATVing and wine tasting in Ensenada, ate, checked out the downtown shops, ate, ignored kids selling chicklets, ate, slept, watched shows, ate. A lot of eating to be had on cruise ships. LMAO.
